A training plan is useful. Coaching is the judgement around it.

Training has to work for the athlete in front of you. Their history, current capacity, response to training and individual circumstances all shape how the work develops.

Lived experience and postgraduate research shape every engagement.

01

The individual determines the method

The practice is not governed by a single methodology. Training is informed by testing and each athlete’s individual circumstances.

02

Physical preparation is part of performance

Strength, mobility and mechanical resilience are part of the performance problem, not supplementary work added around its edges.

03

What happens between sessions

Sleep, nutrition, recovery and the ordinary choices made away from training determine how much return the training actually produces.

Progress that survives contact with real life.

One athlete, three years, with the work spanning aerobic development, speed, strength and the habits required to sustain it.

Attention is finite.

I keep the practice deliberately small. That leaves enough room to understand the person behind the data, notice what is changing and apply the level of thought serious ambitions deserve.

Is the coaching right for you?
